My roots are in California. My family moved from the orchards of Saratoga to the beaches of Santa Cruz when I was sixteen. I love the ocean and have been involved in the arts my entire life. For more than 30 years, I have been devoted to the creation of graphic design, illustration, print and internet media. Proudly, I have received outstanding recognition for my work including a series of wine labels designed for the former Beatles member, Sir Paul McCartney’s Garland Appeal Foundation. My product designs have been presented before the Presidential Cabinet inside the White House and my dazzling stage designs have appeared on Broadway shows and national broadcasting sets.
I have also been the contributing editor and travel writer for Ocean Sports International and On-The-Edge magazines promoting sustainable eco-travel within the diving industry.
In March of 2015 I became the founder and media director for Save Our Skies Santa Cruz. I have built followers of this Santa Cruz based grass roots movement by strategizing and publishing educational information and messaging through internet, print and television. I also organize and lead local and national protests. My home and design studio is located in the Santa Cruz mountains above the Monterey Bay in California. I enjoy my leisure time with family and friends, at the beach, painting, dancing with Rhythm & Motion Santa Cruz, swimming, scuba diving, and hiking the many trails near my home.
“Image is everything. There is an irresistable urge to create true art in everything I do. I find the creative process challenging and exciting as I strive to go beyond what is conceivable. My work also demands social responsibility in the products and services I promote. It reflects the positive aspects of our culture by presenting compelling images that attracts our attention, excites our senses and ultimately motivates us to make positive choices.” Denise D.
